A new year is a good time for a fresh start – a new beginning.  Thirty days of 2015 have already passed.  That’s okay.  We have three hundred and thirty five ahead of us.  Now is a good time for a new beginning.  God also love beginnings.  God may be saying to some of us if not all of us, hinting even, trying to get our attention on what He wills for us this year. In Genesis chapter 12 after the death of Abram’s father, God called Abram to a new beginning.  For some of us our new beginnings come after the death of a loved one, or after the loss of a job, or a move to a new neighborhood, or even during or after an illness or tragedy.  “Now the Lord had said to Abram:”And He may be saying the same to some of us. “Get out of your country,”   Before you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, in what country did you live?   Some believers in Christ Jesus are still living in the country of their first birth.   The “country” o...

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!   How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!  Romans 11:33 When we think of riches, we think of money, mansions, luxurious vehicles and on and on.   This verse is telling us that God  has riches of wisdom and knowledge.  The depth of the riches of God’s wisdom and God’s knowledge is so deep, no human being can fathom it. God's wisdom and knowledge is seen in His judgments.   We cannot search out God’s judgments.  We should not even try.  When we see an unusual occurrence in a person’s life or in our own, the temptation is usually to analyze or explain the reason for the event.  God’s ways are vastly higher than ours.  We should not even try to give a reason for any event in anyone’s life or in our own.   The only reason we are exhorted to give - is the reason for the hope that is within us. 1 Peter 3:15...

A new year has begun with all of its unknowns.  However, we know who love us and who cares for us.  We thank our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for His wonderful mercies in 2014.  My family and I saw God’s workings in every aspect of our lives.  Many started 2014 and did not see it finished.  Some started 2014 enthusiastically, and as the year unfolded so did their hopes and dreams.  Some others fervently pursued their goals when suddenly they were blindsided by sickness, or by some sort of tragedy.  How will we face this year ahead of us? The love of Jesus Christ, what does His love look like - a baby lying in a manger? Imagine if you will.   The God of the universe in the body of a baby lying in a manger of hay in a small town called Bethlehem over 2000 years ago.  Wasn’t that extremely inhibitive?   The God, who created us,  The One through whom everything that have life exist.  Heb1:2   Jesus Christ came in the form of a human being, a helpless baby.  He was confined to the limitations of a baby.   He came not speaking or walking.  (Being God, most likely He knew what was going on around Him.)         What love?  Jesus Christ did not come on this earth as a man.  God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ wanted Jesus to experience this human life.   To be truly able to identify with the human race, Jesus was conceived in Mary’s womb by the Holy Spirit, and His human life progressed from there. ...

God – Father Son and Holy Spirit is involved in our living out our salvation.  When I awake in the morning the first thing I do is pray.   The Holy Spirit is there in my praying to get it right for me.  Romans 8:26 tells us:  “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought , but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.    The Holy Spirit intercedes for us on behalf of our prayers.  Many a time we cannot express what we are feeling or thinking as we desire.  Our minds are twisted by our negative experiences, the untruths we have been told, the sinful ways we perceived in ourselves and others, our sinful acts that we have committed and are committing.  All of these experiences and actions helped shape our thinking.  The Holy Spirit cuts through all of our fog, and He knows what we should be saying to God, and He communi...

W hat a privilege we have to be guided by the Holy Spirit. The God of the universe directing our daily lives here on this earth. Is this for real? Yes it is.  The God of this universe surely has better things to do than to be engage in our daily, hourly, minutely living? After all He has a universe to run. However, what gives God greater pleasure than to indwell His creation and guide them around the potholes of life. He leads us in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. He enjoys our pathway as He accompanies us along the way. Psalm 22:3 tells us, “God enthrones Himself in the praises of His people”. God desires to walk with us.  God Almighty – Creator of heaven and earth called out Abraham to walk with Him. He would accompany Abraham to a place that He would lead him to. Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In his famous “I have a dream” speech Dr. King spoke to reconciliation between blacks and whites, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics. Reconciliation produces harmony and peace.   Legislation cannot produce reconciliation only forgiveness can. We see this in the parable Jesus gave regarding a young man and his father in Luke 15: 11-32. The father had two sons and the younger son decided he would leave his father’s house. He asked his father for his inheritance. His father gave him his inheritance and he left home. No doubt, he left happy and had many dreams floating around in his head. His father was not happy. His son had left without his approval. He had transgressed his father’s will and intent.  The day came when the son met on hard times and had absolutely nothing in his possession.
