God's Wisdom and Knowledge
Oh, the depth of the riches
both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments and His
ways past finding out! Romans 11:33 When we think of riches, we think of money, mansions, luxurious vehicles and on and on. This verse is telling us that God has riches of wisdom and knowledge. The depth of the riches of God’s wisdom and
God’s knowledge is so deep, no human being can fathom it. God's wisdom and knowledge is seen in His judgments. We cannot search out God’s judgments. We should not even try.
When
we see an unusual occurrence in a person’s life or in our own, the temptation
is usually to analyze or explain the reason for the event. God’s ways are vastly higher than ours. We should not even try to give a reason for
any event in anyone’s life or in our own.
The only reason we are exhorted to give - is the reason for the hope that
is within us. 1 Peter 3:15 Do not try to analyze God’s ways. We will only end up committing sin.
Isaiah
55:8 and 9 says: “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My
ways, says the Lord.” Verse 9: “ For as
the heavens are higher than the earth,” (measureless?) “ so are My ways higher
than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” When
God sent the prophet Samuel to anoint one of Jesse’s sons as king of Israel,
Samuel looked at the first son and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before
Him”. Eliab had the physical
attractiveness that one would expect of a king. This is how we think. But God said no. “…….For the Lord does not see as man
sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
We
cannot see the heart of anyone. We
cannot know what is in one’s heart unless he or she reveals it to us. We ourselves do not know all that is in our
heart. Sometimes God brings up a sin in
my heart, and I am taken aback. I want
to ask God, Are you sure? Am I really guilty
of this sin? This is why the Psalmist
David asked God in Psalms 139:23: “Search
me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties.” Verse
24: “And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way
everlasting.” 1 Kings 8:39 tells us, “….
For You (God) alone know the hearts of all the sons (daughters) of men.”
For
who has known the mind of the Lord? Or
who has become His counselor? Romans 11:34 God is infinite. God is the Source of all knowledge and
wisdom. 1Corinthians 2:16 asks us the
same question, and then responds, “But we have the mind of Christ”. We do not know the thoughts of God. His thoughts are too high for us. However, those of us who have accepted the
Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior have the mind of Christ. We can think Godly thoughts. We have the mind of Christ through a finite
body. Therefore, we cannot think as God
would.
We cannot instruct God. Isaiah 40: 13, 14 and 28 asks the following
questions: Who has taught God? Who has given God advice? Who has taught God justice, wisdom and
understanding? The answer is - No
one!! No one is capable or has the
capacity to teach God. God Almighty, the
Creator of the heavens and the earth is the All Wise One and All Knowledgeable
One.
God
knows all that is happening in our lives and in the world today. Amidst all of the seemingly chaotic events in
our country and around the world, God’s will is being done. We should walk through this year – 2015
confidently in our Savior Jesus Christ; knowing that He has all wisdom and all
knowledge. Whatever comes our way in
2015, our Savior knows and His wisdom can guide us through each and every
circumstance and event in our lives.
Only place the control of your life in His hands. Bible Quotes are from the NKJV
