Trust God

There seems to be much dismay among some evangelical Christians over the selection of the next president of the United States in November. In listening to two talk show hosts and some of their guests and reading opinions on the candidates, I can hear and read the discouragement in some of their voices. Is this a sign of Christians placing their hopes in human beings? Where is God?
Why are your souls disquieted within you? Hope in God!! Why are some believers in Christ Jesus so discouraged? Hope in God!! He is a present help in time of trouble. Whatever happened to prayer? Are we praying? We have to pray individually. We cannot look to others to pray for the country while we stay silent. The Almighty God is in control. He is in control of the universe and everything in it. Why then are we so disturbed? Why are our souls disquieted within us? Hope in God!!
Where is all of the concern coming from? Is it coming from hearts that do not know God? If so, I can understand the concern. As believers in Christ we are to rest in Him. Our Lord knows what He is doing. God could have given us two different candidates. He knows the reason we have these two. We have to trust God. I saw a scene unfold yesterday on my way to work that strengthened my hope. While waiting on a red traffic light to change, I glanced to my left. I saw a man leaving his home walking down the steps with a preschooler at his side, and at the door of the home was a lady standing with a toddler in her right hand and waving and blowing kisses with her left hand to the man and the preschooler. I thought this image looks like a picture out of the 40’s and 50’s (with the exception of the preschooler going off to PreK). Twenty years ago who would think that in the year 2016 in Washington, DC one would see such a sight. We need to trust God. All is not loss. No need to panic over the future. God is in control.
God is working behind the scenes. God is working in people’s hearts. God can move the heart of the leader of any country including the United States of America. Can you not trust God in a Clinton’s presidency? Can you not trust God in a Trump’s presidency? Do you not know for whom you should vote? Pray!! Can you not trust God to tell you for whom to vote? Do you not know God like that? Well, get to know Him. God’s will is being fulfilled in the world today and we need to align ourselves with His program. Praying, reading and meditating on the Word of God every day will make you aware of God’s will in your life and His Will for the world.

The great commission is still on – Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”. Mark 16:15. Are we telling others in our world the Gospel of our salvation? Are we supporting the Work of the Lord Jesus in the earth through the giving of our time, talents and or finance? Whoever becomes President of the USA in November will be of God’s allowance or His choice. God’s purposes will be fulfilled. Amen.

The Three In One in Our Daily Living

God – Father Son and Holy Spirit is involved in our living out our salvation.  When I awake in the morning the first thing I do is pray.   The Holy Spirit is there in my praying to get it right for me.  Romans 8:26 tells us:  “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought , but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.    The Holy Spirit intercedes for us on behalf of our prayers.  Many a time we cannot express what we are feeling or thinking as we desire.  Our minds are twisted by our negative experiences, the untruths we have been told, the sinful ways we perceived in ourselves and others, our sinful acts that we have committed and are committing.  All of these experiences and actions helped shape our thinking.  The Holy Spirit cuts through all of our fog, and He knows what we should be saying to God, and He communi...

Love - The overriding factor

Love not hate.   Christians – born from above are called to love one another and to love the peoples of the world; just as God has loved us and as He loves the entire human race.    We are to be known as Christ ones because of our love for everyone.  Please let us believers and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ not be influence by the voices that are around us today.  We know there are injustices and inequalities in our society.  Truly in every society in the world the same exist.  Life is of God.  No one can exist outside of God’s breath of life.  That means every human life, no matter the skin tone, is valuable and precious in God’s sight, and should be as well in ours.    God shows us in 1Corinthians 13 what love looks like and what love is not.  Verse 1- 3 warns us about the nature of our works (after we have accepted God's salvation).
