God Is The Authority in the Earth
God appoints the leadership in every country, island, state
and jurisdiction in the earth. Are these
leaders Christian conservatives? Look
around the globe and answer the question for yourself. Whoever is in leadership positions around the
world is there because God allowed it.
God places people in leadership according to His Will and His
purposes.
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, in his dream in Daniel Chapter
4, was told by the watchers in the dream, “in order that the living may know
that the Most High rules in the kingdom
of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.” Daniel reiterates the same truth in verses
25 and 32. God is in control in the
earth. In verse 31, the voice was heard
from heaven “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken the kingdom has departed
from you! Verse 32: …… “until you know that the Most High rules
in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses. “ Three times this truth is stated in this chapter
4 of Daniel. God is reinforcing this
truth to us – even today - that He is the One who rules in the kingdoms of
men. It is God who will, and has already selected
the next President of the USA. God
wants us to know that He promotes men and women and He removes them in
accordance with His Will.
Many Christians
become anxious and upset over the leadership or the soon to be elected leadership in their country – president,
prime minister, dictator or leader. For
countries which have the voting process, Christians should pray and look to God
for direction in their voting. He will
direct us in our consciences and in our hearts for who we should vote. God sets over the kingdoms the lowest of
men. Do not expect to see many righteous
people – in accordance with God’s righteousness – in leadership . All of us should know that politics is a
dirty institution. We see it forcibly
before our eyes even today in the US.
In Ezekiel chapter 29:19, God said that He would give the
land of Egypt to the king of Babylon – Nebuchadnezzar. Why would God do that? This was the consequence of Pharaoh’s pride. In
verse 3 Pharaoh the king of Egypt said, “My river is my own; I have made it myself.” God repeated Pharoah’s words to Ezekiel in verse 9. Pride goes before a fall. God removed the Egyptians out of the land of
Egypt for forty years. Then He brought
them back a humbler nation. Read Ezekiel
chapters 29 and 30. Read verse 15 of
chapter 29. This verse stands true even
today. Egypt is a diminished kingdom
from what it was hundreds of years ago.
Babylon’s army was
not an army of conservation Christians.
They were violent. They were
sinful. Yet in verses
18 - 20 of Ezekiel 29, God said that Babylon’s army had worked for Him against
Tyre. God used the army of Babylon to
accomplish his Will in Tyre and in Egypt.
When Jesus was standing in judgment before Pilate, Pilate
told Jesus, “Do you not know that I have power to crucify you, and power to release
you?” Jesus answered, “You could have no
power at all against me unless it had been given you from above.” John
19: 10,11. How is it that instead of
Pilate, there was not a righteous judge interrogating Jesus? Then God’s Will would not have been
done. Jesus came to die and die He did. He also rose from the dead.
Today
some judges are making decisions in the courts that are ungodly. God is allowing them to make these decisions,
but He is not condoning them. God will
tolerate these godless decisions made by the courts and legislatures until the
cup of America is full. Unless America repents,
God will execute His justice and judgement.
There is no need to panic over who will be the next
president of the United States. God uses
who He will. God is in control and He
knows what He is doing. All we need to
do is to follow Jesus’ exhortation.
“Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation.”
