Rest In The Lord
If we believe that God is in control, then we know the
terrorists can only do what God allows.
Psalms 37:
14-15: “The wicked have drawn the sword
and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are
of upright conduct.” 15: “Their sword shall enter their own heart, and
their bows shall be broken.” Those who
will inflict terror upon us desire us to melt with fear. They continually sound out the message that
they are coming our way. Believers in
the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation are to be calm and unafraid. We are to “be anxious for nothing”
Philippians 4:6 We have nothing to
fear. God is on our side. Psalms 37: 9,10: “For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall
inherit the earth.” 10: “For yet a little while and the wicked shall
be no more; indeed, you will look
carefully for his place, but it shall be no more.” Let us see the events happening in our world
today from God’s perspective. “A little
while and the wicked shall be no more”.
Look through God’s eyes if you will.
If we believe that “all things work together for good to
those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”; then we know that if anything happens to us we
will have a good outcome. Psalms 37: 25,
28: “I have been young, and now am old; yet
I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.” 28: “For
the Lord loves justice, and does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, but the
descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.”
Instead of being fearful, we are to rejoice. God is with us! The God of Jacob is our refuge.
If we believe that, “ if God be for us who can be against us”. Then we will not be afraid. We will trust in God. Psalms 37: 3:
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His
faithfulness.” The future of the wicked
shall be cut off. The events we see and
read about will not last. They will come
to an end. The believers in Jesus Christ
for salvation will outlast, will outlive the terrorists either here in this
world or in the world to come. Our
future is with the Lord. Our future is
in the new heaven and the new earth. The
wicked have no lasting future. Remember
that!
“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.”….. Psalms 37:7
Let us not be restless for God’s judgement.
Remember God is patient. He is
patient with us. He is patient with the
rebels – giving them opportunities to repent.
When God strikes He will strike hard.
Psalms 37: 35, 36: “I have seen
the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree.”
36: “Yet he passed away, and behold, he
was no more; indeed I sought him, but he
could not be found.” Let us rest in the
Lord Jesus. Relax! God is in control. He will avenge our enemies. He knows how to bring vengeance. He may use a man, a woman, a government or
governments, even the elements. He will
avenge His people. Cease from worry
and anxiety. “For God has not given us a
spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2Timothy 1:7
Love your enemies. Pray for them.
Rest in the Lord.
I encourage you to read Psalms 37.
