Shout Now
A Sunday ago in my church we were singing the chorus, “O Lord Jesus, how long, how long ere we shout the glad song? Christ returneth! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen!” The thought came into my mind while we were singing those words the third time around. Will we have time to shout those words when our Lord returns? 1Corinthians 15:52 reads “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” I do not know if we will have time to think, furthermore shout. The Lord’s coming will be in an instant. As we blink our eyes to take it all in we will be in heaven. 1Thessalonians 4:16 informs us: “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God.
